MrPharmer2012 wrote:Jay another question, for the rods, what length do I need to cut them down to, the 400mm is way to long what is correct length needed, Also the links posted for the shaft and the triangular pieces with bearings to hold it dont fit, so either the supplier messed up or it is the wrong link
Hi
What links are we talking about? I'm not aware of posting links to any specific supplier.
The linear rails are 333mm in my 3D model so I would suggest to cut them just a little bit shorter.
Anyway, all the measurements can be taken from the 3D preview. There are some very powerful tools to help you understand whole assembly.

Hey jay I am putting my build together and the brackets for the motors from the FFB 2 joystick dont match watch your drawing shows, Did you cut these to a different size and drill holes to match the brackets? If so can you upload a template or isolate the two brackets in your drawing for download so I can load to cad and have a new bracket cut? I would post a picture but i dont know how to host one and dont see a direct upload option, you can email me cscott@pacificmedicalcare.net and I can share my build to show you what brackets look like

Also the gear printed for the potentiometer the hole is much too large for the pot, did you modify this and how did you attach, since it is a round shaft so that it stays true

So i understand this correctly as far the cabling for this, you are using all the same parts from the sidewinder? or do i need additional control boards? and which ones. i have read most of the comments here and i dont see anything about wiring all this up

Hi
Sorry for the lack of docs but I also have limited time to dedicate to this plus I'm trying to get v2 rolling as well.
The original motor brackets have been modified. You can isolate them in the 3D preview to see where about you need to cut them. It doesn't have to be spot on precise though.
Only the Pitch axis bracket needs additional three holes. One of them is where the bigger cog wheel pin was pressed and the other two can be located just by aligning your plastic printed bracket to the metal one, marking and drilling the two remaining holes accordingly.
I hope this helps

You need to take this with a pinch of salt as my printer does all inner diameters about 0.8mm smaller so I made this particular wheel little too lose perhaps.
Anyway, I fixed the cogwheel to the pot shaft with two-part epoxy resin. Make sure you get some of it into the grove at the end of the shaft for stronger grip.

Hi
Yes, everything used in this build comes from Sidewinder 2 joystick. Only the Pitch potentiometer has been replaced with 5 turn Bochen pot due to the difficulties introduced when trying to reduce 150mm of linear motion into 30 degrees of rotation.
As for wiring, I think all is the same as in the Sidewinder except for the Roll pot which has been reversed. You can simply check this in windows.
The documentation for v1 Yoke is not yet complete so please refer to the forum, my email or youtube chat if you get stuck. I'm too busy to finish needed tutorials right now but others may be able to help as well.
Regards
Jay

I completed Yoke, and have some problems with wiring and electronics
Bcs when i cover sensors both engines start to spin, i don't know where to wire 5 turn potentiometar(maybe i wire bad) i know it is second potentiometar but this have 5 contacts and that removed 3 contact.. and can you explain this

The 5 Turn have only 3 contacts not 5 (2 of them are together)
I guess your roll and pitch are reversed, but its not a big deal.
Try only to plugin the USB cabel, dont use the power cable yet.
At the windows u can see if it was reversed, if so start the flightsim and go to FSUIPC at the calibration axes and u can put both of em to reversed wich should be now the right way.
After u have done this, plugin the power cabel and ur yoke should middel it self.

i plug just USB cabel and in windows look good not reversed, managed to get wiring from youtube video for potentimetar and now that is ok.
Problem is Z encoder( that on sensor PCB) wich get crazy on calibration (vibrating) and when i connect all cables and tuch sensor both engines spin ( i removed belts bcs i wont to damage gears), on sensor tuch should Yoke home, BUt i maybe managed to burn some component on PCB
bcs i tuch one condensatro, and wires from big potentiometar short conected for short period (ground and contact) Now trying to find out..
Control leds light more bright when sensors activated ...
Any sugestion?

If u only plugged in the usb cabel the motors cant start spinning !! They only work if u put in the power cabel. The roll potentimeter are 100% reversed when u dont wired it new.

When is only USB cabel its ok i can move Yoke in all direction and calibrate it. just not Z encoder.
But when i conect power cabel, than motors spining.

Ok, than i dont know ! Maybe the admin can help, it looks like ur pots are reversed, the yoke try to middle ur roll and pitch axis, than he try to rotat ur motors to keep the axis middled

Sorry guys, I was quite busy with other stuff.
I'll take some photos, upload schematics and explain how to connect all the electronics when I get back from work tonight.
