Aluminum instead of 3d printed parts

Id like to build my yoke out of as many aluminum parts as i can. I am a machinist and have access to all the tools required to do this. What i meed are drawings of the parts. Are those available? Is it possiblt to use the planetary gearboxes from v2 to replace the plastic gears from the sidewinder joystick, or are they just fine for the hack mod type of forces?
